About Me

As a Cultural Care local childcare consultant (LCC), I invite our host families and au pairs as well as those considering Cultural Care Au Pair to explore my site and learn about what is going on in our community. I provide year-round support to host families and au pairs, and also talk to families considering the program to help them determine if Cultural Care Au Pair is the right childcare solution for them.

 Leader in the Industry

As a Host Mom first, and now The Au Pair Concierge, I can attest first hand to a family’s wants, the selection and interview process, logistics with having an Au Pair, and the wonderful aspects of cultural exchange. My children have had the benefit of learning Portuguese, German, and Spanish through hosting au pairs and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Since my passion shines through with each family I speak to, I am honored to be the video spokesperson for this amazing company and you can watch all of my videos as I dive deep into the au pair program.

After my first year as a Coordinator, I was inducted into the elite circle of Cultural Care’s Leadership League which celebrates those who have shown exemplary skills with administrative and compliance duties, customer satisfaction and service, and bringing awareness to the program by being an au pair childcare advocate! This honor solidifies my passion for matching families all over the country with personalized support everyday. Fortunately, this means that I am here to stay!
As a Leaguer, I have been a leader in the Au Pair Childcare industry, mentoring coordinators across the country to reach their goals, place better matches, and helping families host an au pair successfully. In my mission to the bring cultural exchange, building bridges for busy families, I help each family by personally screening and interviewing each au pair! I have also created my own Family Manual to help ensure the that every one of my families is set up for an amazing adventure with a childcare provider that is much more than just childcare! Through international trips, meetings, trainings, and service, I have influenced positive outcomes in every aspect of the program for hundreds of people!

The au pair program has changed my life personally as a Host Mom and professionally through helping families in all 50 states! You may think that I am au pair obsessed, and I would have to agree with you. Take the plunge and host an au pair with The Au Pair Concierge by your side, you’ve got everything to gain!” – Pooja

Getting to Know Me (& our Au Pairs)

With three young children of my own, I understand the needs of families while they try to find the best possible childcare for their children. Born and raised in Texas, I attended Trinity University in San Antonio (go tigers!), for my undergraduate studies, and received my Masters in Public Health from the University of Louisville in Kentucky (go cards!). After living in Texas, Kentucky, New York, and Boston, I have finally settled back down South, deep in the heart of Texas where the food is so much better and people are so much sweeter. Years ago, my family and I welcomed our first Au Pair and the experience has been amazing and enlightening. This Summer will be in our 5th year hosting a lovely lady, and we just welcomed our 4th Au Pair so when I tell you that I know the ins and outs of hosting, I am definitely speaking from personal experience!

Here is our First au pair, Talita from Brazil! She is pictured here at our annual pumpkin patch trip during her extension year with us. I still feel that if it wasn’t for her, we may not have ever hosted an au pair! The prospect of interviewing au pairs was made simple when I saw this sweet girl’s application video! Talita is still so close to our family that we still meet up today. She is now married and has a baby of her own, so I feel like I’m a HostGrandma!

Here is Julie, our Second Au Pair from beautiful Germany! On her last day with us, we decided to take the plunge and jump into the pool together! Julie was amazing at organizing activities for the kids and getting them to interact with the world. She was one of the sweetest au pairs I have ever met and we are so happy that she will always be a part of our family. She regularly sends photos and videos of her life in Germany and we send some love right back!

Here is Vivian, our spectacular Colombian au pair, shortly after she arrived to our family. Vivian is one of the most lively au pairs I have ever met and she quickly adapted to our family as if she was always one of us. She took pride in teaching our kiddos Spanish, filled our home with dancing and music, and was instrumental in teaching my kids how to love in more languages! People often confused the two of us and it made my day every time! We are so grateful that she still visits us today!

Isabel just joined us this July and here she is pictured with the whole family! As my kids grow, I learn each time what their needs are which kinds of au pairs would be successful for our family. With Isabel, it was clear that her love for singing would fit right in with their sense of adventure. It’s difficult to take care of 3 kids but Isabel has already jumped through every hoop that they tossed at her. We are so lucky to have a new partner in crime, and more than that, we are lucky that she puts up with me singing the Sound of Music all day, (because they are from Austria just like her!) and hasn’t quit on us yet!

When I am not saving the day with childcare options and rainy-day recipes for fun, I spend my time in the studio as professional dancer, am a committed member of the Junior League in San Antonio, am a proud PTA mom, and a Mentor to other coordinators around the country. I am also a Motivational Speaker(!), the Social Coordinator for my community/neighborhood, and I am not kidding when I say that I love to throw a party! Public Health has always been my true passion though, and I think the Cultural Exchange aspect of hosting an Au Pair plays right into bridging communities, fostering healthy relationships, and discovering new things about each other. This might be the reason that I take pride in this program and am such a huge advocate for families who are interested in knowing their options and finding the right fit!

I also love: going to the gym, socializing with friends, meeting new people, traveling, cooking and entertaining, and of course being the Tickle Monster to my three kids, who are affectionately known as the Aces. Take a minute to look around, follow my Facebook Page, Instagram, sign up for my Newsletter, and please contact me at (210) 960-7123, if you’ve got any questions. I am always on the lookout for a new friend… and a great chocolate cake recipe!
